ASSISTENT CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNIQUE (LEVEL 1)

Requirements
In general, everybody will be admitted to attend the education (16 years and older), also drop-outs.

Training duration
The education takes one year and can be followed with career guidance.

Description
This education teaches you to make yourself useful within an organisation in civil engineering. First of all, you learn which kinds of techniques there are. You learn all about buildings, constructions, civil engineering and machines. You also learn how to handle measuring equipment, such as spirit levels and radar lasers. You learn about the preparations that have to be made before starting construction work. Furthermore, you learn all about construction work itself. Afterwards, you evaluate whether or not things went according to plan. You acquire technical insight. You learn how to cooperate and to deliberate. It is very important that you know how to work in an organised way. In your future job, you will often experience time pressure. You learn how to deal with that during your education. There are three sub-qualifications within the education: Basic Skills Pavement + Basic Civil Engineering + Basic Safety, Health and Environment Checklist Contractors Basic Skills Sewer systems and Roads + Basic Civil Engineering + Basic Safety, Health and Environment Checklist Contractors Basic Skills Hydraulic Engineering + Basic Civil Engineering + Basic Safety, Health and Environment Checklist Contractors Basic Skills Cables and Pipes + Basic Civil Engineering + Basic Safety, Health and Environment Checklist Contractors You receive your certificate when you have completed the sub-qualifications Basic Skills Civil Engineering, Basic Safety, Health and Environment Checklist Contractors and one of the optional Basic Skills.

Oppertunities
After completing this education, you can attend the training Junior Skilled Worker (level 2). There are also different application courses and 35b courses.

Payment
The wage will be determined based on the Collective Labour Agreement within the company you work for. Furthermore, the wage depends upon your age.

Safety
By following the courses Basic Safety, Health and Environment Checklist Contractors, Working safely along roads and Use your back in a safe way, you will learn how to work in a safe and responsible way.

Buildings
GOA Infra Group has different schools in de region. There are schools in Drachten and Assen. From December until April all students will follow practical lessons. Qualified coaches will guide the students in completing the practical tasks. These practical tasks will be practised and examined several times.
