PAVER (LEVEL 3)

Requirements
You will be admitted to this course after you have finished the course of Junior Paver successfully.

Training duration
The education takes two years and can be followed with career guidance. 

Description
This education teaches you how to pave roads. You learn about all sorts of pavements, such as bricks, natural stones, cobble-stones and tiles. You learn about the characteristics of these stones and you attend lessons about the different foundations. During the education, you learn about different paving methods, such as fan-shaped, shell-shaped, segment-shaped and scale-shaped. 
You learn how to place and pave gutters and roadways in a gradient, square and slanting crossings, squares and yards. In order to do this, you learn how to make calculations so that the pavement is exactly the way it should be. How to work with a spirit level and rotating laser is also a subject within the course. With these instruments you will be able to measure heights so that you can be sure of an equal surface. Finally, you learn how to work with different machinery in a safe way.   

The education contains 4 sub-qualifications, namely:
Groundwork II 
Pavements II
Crossings and Meeting points
Yards and Squares
Small pavements
Mechanical arrangements
Yards and Squares, Small pavements and Mechanical arrangements are optional qualifications, from which you have to choose 1. The other sub-qualifications are obligatory.
You receive the certificate once you have successfully completed all the obligatory sub-qualifications.

Oppertunities
After completing this education, you have the opportunity to follow middle management courses. There are also different application courses and 35b courses.

Payment
The wage will be determined based on the Collective Labour Agreement within the company you work for. Furthermore, the wage depends upon your age.

Safety
By following the courses Basic Safety, Health and Environment Checklist Contractors, Working safely along roads and Use your back in a safe way, you will learn how to work in a safe and responsible way. 

Buildings
GOA Infra Group has different schools in de region. There are schools in Drachten and Assen. From December until April all students will follow practical lessons. Qualified coaches will guide the students in completing the practical tasks. These practical tasks will be practised and examined several times.
